San Luis, Arizona—The City of San Luis Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce a $5,000 contribution from the Campesinos Sin Fronteras (CSF) 2THRIVE Youth Program, reinforcing our longstanding partnership dedicated to promoting health equity in our community.
The City of San Luis Parks and Recreation Department has been an essential CSF partner for over five years, hosting the 2THRIVE’s flagship Summer Youth Leadership Institute (SYLI) at the San Luis Cultural Center. This partnership allows us to empower young individuals to become leaders and positive change-makers in their schools and neighborhoods.
"Partnering with Campesinos Sin Fronteras is vital to fulfilling our mission of fostering programs and facilities that foster the development of positive values and self-esteem," stated Angelica Roldan, Director of Parks and Recreation. "Through this partnership, we have impacted hundreds of youth and families, equipping them with essential resources and support for their overall well-being," she added.
“Health equity is at the heart of everything we do at 2THRIVE. Our collaboration with the San Luis Parks and Recreation Department has allowed us to serve hundreds of youth and families, providing them with the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally,” said Laura Torres, CSF’s Youth and Family Services Director. “We are thrilled to continue this critical partnership.”
The 2THRIVE uses a holistic approach to improve youth development outcomes by implementing evidence-based programs in schools, the juvenile justice system, and community settings. Partnerships with local health organizations, faith-based centers, and youth councils bolster the 2THRIVE project work. Initiatives like the SYLI and youth and parent conferences are key to reaching and serving over 1,500 youth, parents, and caregivers annually.
By working together, the San Luis Parks and Recreation Department and the CSF 2THRIVE program create healthier and more equitable futures for San Luis's youth and families.
