San Luis, Arizona—During the General Election held Tuesday, November 5, 2024, voters could elect candidates for three at-large seats for the San Luis City Council and cast their vote on Propositions 430 and 431. They also had the opportunity to cast their vote for the Presidential election and other county, state, and federal candidacies and propositions. 

Proposition No. 430 would allow the City of San Luis to enter into a franchise agreement with Southwest Gas Corporation, granting the authority to serve customers within the municipality and to utilize the City’s public right-of-way currently with 58.30% (1,278 votes). 

Proposition No. 431, which proposed an Alternative Expenditure Limitation, allowing the City’s elected officials the authority to set the annual spending limit based upon available revenues for the next four fiscal years following the adoption, also known as the Home Rule Option, currently with 52.80% (1,180 votes).  

The newly elected and reelected council members will take office after the canvassing of votes during the November 13, 2024, Regular Council Meeting. The Official Swearing-In Ceremony will take place shortly after the official casting of votes. 

The unofficial results of the November 4, 2024, San Luis General Election are as follows: 

Total Registered Voters: 16,317 

Total Ballot Cast: 2,595 

Voter Turnout: 16%

Cabrera, Luis E. 

933 votes 

18.77% 

Rosales, Esteban 

1,004 votes 

20.20% 

Servin, Lizeth 

907 votes 

18.25% 

Villicana, Jorge

Walshe, Ruben 

937 votes 

18.85%
