[ARCHIVED] City of San Luis Receives GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

 San Luis, Arizona—The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada has awarded the City of San Luis, Arizona Finance Department the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the Fiscal Year 2024 ending June 30, 2024. This is the second time the city has received this recognition.

The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award represents a significant achievement by the City of San Luis, Arizona, Finance Department, reflecting the governing body and staff’s commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. The guidelines for this award are designed to assess how well an entity’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications device. The City of San Luis Annual Budget Book Presentation was ranked proficient in all four categories and the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories.

“This award represents a significant achievement for our department,” said Roula Encinas, Acting Director of Finance. “This recognition is a testament to the City of San Luis Finance Department's collective efforts, and it reinforces the City’s ongoing commitment to fiscal responsibility and transparency as we continue to excel in financial management,” she added.
