San Luis, Arizona — The City of San Luis Public Works Department has announced traffic control changes for Plaza I Subdivision to improve safety and traffic flow following the new Arizona Sidewalk Law.
Traffic control changes will take effect as of February 5th, 2024, and are as follows:
- Arden Avenue will be one-way northbound. Parking will be located on the west side of the street. Trash containers will be placed on the east side of the street.
Bentu Avenue will be one-way southbound. Parking will be located on the east side of the street. Trash containers will be placed on the west side of the street.
Cadena Avenue will be one-way northbound. Parking will be located on the west side of the street. Trash containers will be placed on the east side of the street.
- As a result of these changes, Dimas Avenue will continue to be a two-way traffic with no on-street parking.
To ensure all residents and community members are informed of the changes, the San Luis Public Works Department will hold a Public Neighborhood Meetings to provide traffic control information and answer any questions from the public. The meeting will occur on January 23, 2024, at the retention park at 1377 Arden Avenue. The English and Spanish Traffic Control Change Notice for Plaza I can be viewed online.
Arizona Revised Statue 28-873 states a person shall not stop, stand, or park a vehicle on city sidewalks. Violators may be subject to a fine of up to $95 (City Code 10.15.070).
