[ARCHIVED] City of San Luis and City of Somerton Join Efforts to Host a South County Vaccination Clinic

San Luis, Arizona —  City of San Luis and City of Somerton join efforts to host a South County Students Vaccination Event. The vaccine administered will be Pfizer.

The two cities are collaborating to ensure South County students ages 16 to 18 are vaccinated against Covid-19. Students will need to be accompanied by a parent when attending the vaccination event. 

Pre-registration is necessary. The City of San Luis will be pre-registering via phone on Monday, May 3rd, 2021 and Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 from 8am to 5pm. The number to call is (928) 314-9150.

City of Somerton will be pre-registering in person on Wednesday, May 5th, 2021 from 5pm-7pm, in front of Somerton City Hall. The South County Students Vaccination Event will be held at the Somerton Middle School Gym, located at 1011 N. Somerton Ave, Somerton, AZ, 85350 from 9am to 2pm. The vaccination event will take place Saturday, May 15, 2021.  

“The roll out in Somerton has been a success and we are happy to keep collaborating with the Yuma County Health Department and now with the City of San Luis to reach our younger population,” stated Mayor Gerardo Anaya, from Somerton. 

“It is very important for our young population to get vaccinated to help keep our schools safe,” stated Mayor Gerardo Sanchez. “We are happy to be collaborating with the City of Somerton, our joint efforts is of utmost importance for both our communities,” he concluded.
