City officials participated in the Arizona-Mexico Commission annual meeting
San Luis, Arizona — Business and government leaders from Arizona and Sonora gathered in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora from November 30th to December 1st for the Comisión Sonora-Arizona (CSA) and Arizona-Mexico Commission (AMC) annual meeting.
The AMC annual meeting is a binational event where participants share a common desire to promote a strong, cooperative binational relationship. The summit hosted fourteen binational committee meetings where business and government leaders come together to develop and advance strategies that promote cross-border collaboration in culture, business, and trade, and an overall Megaregion.
Among those in attendance were Mayor Gerardo Sanchez, Vice Mayor Maria C. Ramos, Council Member Matias Rosales and City Manager Tadeo A. De La Hoya of the City of San Luis alongside Mayor Doug Nicholls of the City of Yuma and Mayor José Yepez of the City of Somerton. Keynote speakers Sonora Governor Claudia Pavlovich and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, as well as other top level local, state and federal government leaders from Arizona and Sonora also attended the meeting.
“This meeting allowed both Arizona and Sonora to come together to work towards our shared vision” said Mayor Sanchez.
