[ARCHIVED] CITY OFFICIALS PARTICIPATED IN THE US-MEXICO BINATIONAL BRIDGES AND BORDER CROSSINGS MEETING

Binational Bridges and Border Crossings Meeting

San Luis, Arizona — Vice Mayor Maria Cecilia Ramos, along with Council Member Matias Rosales and Tadeo A. De La Hoya, City Manager for the City of San Luis participated in the United States Mexico Binational Bridges and Border Crossings Meeting in Hermosillo Sonora, from October 23-24, 2017.

The US-Mexico Binational Bridges and Border Crossings meeting hosted by the United States Department of Security along with its Mexican counterparts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, convenes all the principal, federal and state stockholders from both countries to discuss every port of entry project along the Arizona and California borders with Mexico.

During this meeting, Vice Mayor Maria Ramos and Council Member Matias Rosales presented with Enrique Reina Lizarraga, Municipal President of San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora on Port of Entry I and Port of Entry II which included an update on the Pedestrian Port of Entry Annexation.

“This is a principal forum where different cities and towns can present their needs to modernize and improve the port of entry on both nations,” explained Vice Mayor Ramos. She added that during the presentation they were able to discuss the plans for the pedestrian Port of Entry annex building and the need to allow private vehicles to use Port of Entry II.
