[ARCHIVED] Armando Esparza Named as Director of Economic Development and Government & Foreign Affairs

 San Luis, Arizona – The City of San Luis happily announced this week Armando Esparza's appointment as Director of Economic Development and Government and Foreign Affairs. Mr. Esparza, a native of San Luis, Arizona, brings extensive experience in business analytics, small business, marketing, and rural development to his new role.

After a rigorous selection process, Mr. Esparza emerged as the top candidate to fill the vacancy left by his predecessor. As Director of Economic Development and Government and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Esparza will provide strategic and day-to-day management and direction for the City’s economic development and government and foreign affairs programs, policies, and services.

“Armando brings years of experience in economic development at some of the state’s leading economic development agencies, including the Arizona Commerce Authority, Greater Phoenix Economic Council, and the Small Business Development Center,” Stated Acting City Manager Jenny Torres. “Additionally, Armando is a Marvin Andrews Fellow at Arizona State University’s School of Public Affairs, which is designed to train and prepare students aspiring to become leaders in local government,” stated Jenny Torres, Acting City Manager. “I look forward to seeing what he will bring as Director,” she concluded.

“I am honored and incredibly excited to accept this position with the City of San Luis,” stated Mr. Esparza. “I look forward to working with our dedicated staff and leaders in the private and public sector to continue to create opportunities for investors, entrepreneurs, and workers as our city continues to grow,” he concluded.
