Last week, The City of San Luis elected officials visited and commemorated the completion of multiple road investments that mark only the beginning of what is in store for San Luis. These projects were:

Mesa Street Improvements - Phase I and II: A $2.4 million investment brought to Mesa Street residents: keystone retaining walls, new street, curb and gutter, ADA-compliant sidewalks, and driveways. This project also included the adjustment of existing water valves and sewer manholes with new frames and covers, pavement marking, and signage.

Rancho Los Oros Improvement - Phase II: A total of $1.1 million were invested in this project to replace the erosion and settlement of these streets. The city replaced 148 linear feet of sewer, sanitary sewer manholes, pavement, rolled curb, gutter, sidewalks, and driveway entrances.

County 22nd Street & Sidewinder Road Intersection Improvements - Phase I: A $645,150 investment is only the beginning of the work for County 22nd Street and Sidewinder Road improvements. This project included widening the intersection to include turning lanes to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance safety. Phase II is currently under design and will incorporate a traffic signal light.

County 24th Street Roadway: A $2.6 million investment paved a total of 1.9 miles from Avenue H (10th Avenue) to Avenue F ½. The roadway will help alleviate traffic on Cesar Chavez Boulevard from 10th Avenue to Avenue F. While the paving is complete, city staff is working to allocate funding for the streetlights to help with the low visibility of the road at night.

The City of San Luis is focused on fulfilling its commitments to its residents, and in doing so, it’s investing in multiple city-wide projects.
