[ARCHIVED] The City of San Luis Seeks Your Input on Planned Improvements to Cesar Chavez Boulevard

4x6-GENERAL

San Luis, Arizona — In June of 2022, the City of San Luis was awarded $33 million in funding from the State legislature to partially fund improvements to Cesar Chavez Boulevard between San Luis Plaza Drive to Avenue E. This funding allows the City to move into the final design process for the project. The final design is where the project's specifics will be decided before construction.

The City of San Luis is looking to share information and receive feedback on the proposed improvements, which include:

  • More lanes and new traffic signals to improve traffic flow
  • More sidewalks to connect neighborhoods
  • New and improved crosswalks
  • New bike lanes along the corridor
  • New bus stops to enhance rider comfort

More information on the project and a public survey to provide comments can be found on the City of San Luis website at https://sanluisaz.gov/ccb. Those who live or travel in the area are encouraged to provide input by January 31, 2023.
