[ARCHIVED] Road Closure Notice - 4th Avenue (Union Street & County 22nd Street)

4th-close-pr

San Luis, Arizona – The City of San Luis Public Works Department, working with Comite de Bienestar, will begin road improvements on 4th Avenue, between Union Street and County 22nd Street, starting Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

The improvements will allow for better distance visibility, which can only be accomplished by cutting off approximately 6.5 feet of the hill on 4th Avenue, requiring a full roadway closure. The project will incorporate turning lanes to provide better access into the soon to come Valley View Apartment complex. During the closure, approximately 500 lineal feet of water line will be relocated and the 4th Avenue roadway will be widened, including the extension of the center lane. These roadway improvements will increase roadway users’ safety and will better serve the San Luis community.

The City requests for all motorists to follow the reduced speed limits and respect all traffic control signage in construction zones. Please be attentive and yield to pedestrians. Furthermore, please plan ahead to allow extra time for travel using alternate routes.

Roadway closure will commence on Tuesday, March 15th and is expected to be completed in approximately six (6) weeks.
