what-pr-web

San Luis, Arizona – Amongst the many social media platforms that allow residents to interact with the City of San Luis, which include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn and YouTube (@SanLuisAZGov), we are pleased to inform you that WhatsApp will now be forming part of our list of interaction tools.

Starting today, residents and community members will be able to be closer to its government. Residents can communicate with the City of San Luis through WhatsApp at (928) 919-5955 during regular office hours, Monday to Thursday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This line of communication will serve as a tool for our community to provide feedback, comments, or concerns to its local government. Send us a message at (928) 919-5955 to sign up.  Please remember that our mainline, (928) 341-8520, will still receive non-emergency calls.

“The City of San Luis is excited to be the 1st in Yuma County to be incorporating WhatsApp into our tools of communication,” stated Mayor Gerardo Sanchez. “Now we will be able to provide better assistance to our residents and community members and have their questions or concerns resolved in a faster time frame,” added Mayor Sanchez.

“City of San Luis staff is always looking for new and innovative ways to communicate and better serve the public,” stated City Administrator Tadeo A. De La Hoya. “The integration of this app will be helpful for both staff and the public who frequently use this popular app to mitigate needs and address concerns,” he added.

Please note, this line of communication will only be used for non-emergency situations and will not receive phone calls. For emergencies, please continue to utilize the following numbers:

  • Police Department, in case of an emergency, please dial 9-1-1. For non-emergency situations, you may contact them at (928) 341-2420.
  • Fire Department, in case of an emergency, please dial 9-1-1. For non-emergency situations, you may contact them at (928) 341-8550.
  • For Public Works Department emergencies during the weekend (i.e., water and sewer service emergencies), please call the Police Department Communications Division at (928) 341-2420.

For more information about this topic or to schedule a meeting with the City of San Luis Public Affairs Office, please call us at (928) 341-8520 or email us at publicrelations@sanluisaz.gov.
