San Luis, Arizona – San Luis Police Chief Richard Jessup has been appointed by Arizona Governor Doug Ducey to serve on the Commission to Prevent Violence Against Women. This honorable appointment is given as recognition to outstanding citizens within the Arizona state government.

The appointment occurred this past February 2021, the nomination was able to be finalized on March 29th, 2021, when Chief Jessup signed his Oath of Loyalty.

The Governor's Commission to Prevent Violence Against Women is tasked with developing legislative and policy recommendations with regard to preventing violence against women, as well as expanding on successful prevention initiatives and coordinating and expanding services for victims of domestic and sexual violence. The Commission seeks to unite and enhance statewide efforts to prevent and end domestic and sexual violence.
