San Luis, Arizona — In honor of Veteran’s Day the City of San Luis would like to recognize and honor local veterans who have bravely served to protect the nation’s liberties and freedoms.


On Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2020 the City of San Luis will be broadcasting a video as a thank you and to honor the city’s veterans. We cordially invite all local veterans to participate. Local veterans will be recognized on the City of San Luis official social media pages (@SanLuisAZGov) their names will also be displayed on the LED sign located at the corner of Cesar Chavez Blvd. and Main Street.


To participate we ask local veterans or their families residing in San Luis, Arizona to email publicrelations@sanluisaz.gov or direct message the official City of San Luis Facebook page (@SanLuisAZGov) with the following:

  • A photo or collage of the veteran
  • Complete name
  • Years of service 
  • Military Branch and Rank 
  • Message for or from the veteran

Submissions can start being emailed starting Today, October 29, 2020 until Friday November 6, 2020 no later than 5:00 p.m.


“Our community is resilient and has proven to stand together in hard times, this November 11, we stand together to recognize and honor all of our local veterans,” stated Mayor Gerardo Sanchez.  “It is important to express our gratitude to the men and women, currently serving or who have served. Let us also remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” he concluded.
