[ARCHIVED] Mayor Sanchez Signs Proclamation Adopting Governor Ducey's Executive Order 2020-12 & 2020-18

San Luis, Arizona – This afternoon at 6:22 p.m. Mayor Gerardo Sanchez signed a proclamation implementing Arizona Governor Doug Ducey’s Executive Order 2020-12 and 2020-18 issued on March 30, 2020, titled “Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected: Physical Distancing to Mitigate COVID-19 Transmission”. The Governor’s Executive Order will go into effect as of Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. Signatory of the proclamation was attested by City Administrator Tadeo A. De La Hoya and witnessed and supported by both Fire Chief Angel Ramirez and Police Chief Richard Jessup.

Governor Doug Ducey’s Executive Order 2020-18 states that Arizona shall institute a “Stay home, Stay healthy, Stay connected” policy to promote physical distancing while also encouraging social connectedness; enabling essential services to continue, protecting people’s right and slowing the spread of COVID-19 to the greatest extent possible.

The City of San Luis continues to work alongside Yuma County Health Department, Yuma Regional Medical Center, state and federal agencies to ensure the safety and health of all residents.  Currently, in Yuma County, there are 12 cases of COVID-19.

“It is highly encouraged for all residents and community members to stay home and practice social distancing,” stated Mayor Gerardo Sanchez. “If residents or community members need to leave their homes to perform essential tasks, please do so while complying with the Governors Orders recommendation.,” he concluded.
