San Luis, AZ – Today the City of San Luis announces the selection of Geraldine Gutierrez as the new Public Information Officer/Assistant to Council. Mrs. Gutierrez will lead the City’s efforts to keep a close relationship between Mayor, City Council and its residents and will empower communication between the City and the media.

“Geraldine will be a tremendous asset to the City and will do great as our PIO,” said Mayor Gerardo Sanchez. Mrs. Gutierrez brings more than 15 years of experience in the private, non-profit and public sectors. She was working in the solar panel industry and owns and operates a carpet cleaning company. She has also worked for the Somerton School District and Chicanos por la Causa.

The City of San Luis went through an extensive search where Mrs. Gutierrez was the top candidate. “I am honored and humbled to be selected as the City’s new PIO/Assistant to Council,” said Gutierrez.
