San Luis, Arizona — On March 4th & 5th, 2017, the San Luis Boxing Team participated in the Golden Gloves Regional Boxing Tournament that was held at the Santa Fe Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
San Luis native, Anthony Clark, fought and won the 108 Regional Champion. His victory granted him a slot to move on to the National Golden Gloves which will be held in Lafayette, Louisiana this summer.
There were ten different weight classes and based on the success in the tournament each boxer was granted an opportunity to advance to the National Golden Gloves.
Based on Anthony’s performance, he will be one of the San Luis Boxing Team members that will advance to Louisiana. Anthony who fought a very tough opponent by the name of Santiago Perez won the fight by decision.
During this event, numerous boxers from the following states participated: Washington, Nevada, Oregon, and Arizona.
