[ARCHIVED] "Mayor for a Day" contest winners

mayorforaday.jpg

San Luis High School students recently competed in a "Mayor for a Day" essay contest. More than 40 students wrote about why their community was great and what made it special. They also wrote about what they would do to improve the City of San Luis, Arizona if they were "Mayor for a Day."
The ideas were endlessly creative and ambitious, but also heartfelt and thoughtful. Members of Council had such a difficult time choosing just one winner that they decided to recognize the top six finalists.
First place goes to Ericka Amaya
Second Place goes to Flormari Gonzalez
Third Place goes to Zul Santiago
We would like to also recognize Brianna Valencia, Moises Rodriguez and Rafael Fonseca for making it to the top finalists.
