San Luis, Arizona — The City of San Luis Candidate Packets for the upcoming municipal elections are available for pickup as of January 5, 2026. Candidate nomination and petition forms can be filed beginning March 7, 2026, with a deadline of April 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. As the first day to file falls on a Saturday, the first day will be March 9, 2026. Packets are available at the City of San Luis Clerk’s Office at 1090 East Union Street, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The City of San Luis will hold elections for four (4) seats (one (1) Mayoral seat and three (3) Council Member seats) for a four (4) year term, to expire in December 2030. To qualify as a candidate for city office, one must meet the following qualifications outlined in A.R.S. §9-232 at the time of the election:
- United States citizenship
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Must be a qualified Elector of the City of San Luis
- Have resided in the City of San Luis or any area annexed to the city for at least one (1) year preceding the election.
- Must be able to speak, write, and read the English language per A.R.S. §38-201.
- Have not been convicted of a felony or until civil rights have been restored.
